George Blow Elliott (1873-1948) was born in Norfolk, VA. He is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and Harvard Law School. Following in his family's footsteps, Elliott went to work for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway Company and later the Atlantic Coast Line Railway Company. He eventually rose through the ranks of the latter railroad to become President. Elliott was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and involved in a variety of charitable activities in Wilmington, NC. He is buried in Oakdale Cemetery.
